As a Housing Support Worker, you’ll play a vital role in supporting young people and adults in our accommodation. You’ll develop person-centred support plans, help residents build independence and ensure they feel safe, heard and supported every step of the way.
This is a part-time role (16 hrs/week), based in Stoke-on-Trent, reporting to our Operations Manager.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide day-to-day housing support and safeguarding in line with our values, policies and procedures
- Deliver one-to-one sessions and group activities tailored to residents’ needs
- Support residents to develop life skills, resilience, confidence, overcome barriers and prepare for independent living
- Build trust with residents and develop tailored support plans in line with Egret’s mission
- Coordinate with partner agencies to ensure positive outcomes
- Keep accurate records of support activities and outcomes in line with safeguarding, GDPR and policies
- Observe, identify and act on any safeguarding concerns and develop safety management plans with residents
- Carry out welfare checks and respond to any concerns in accordance with policy and procedure
What We’re Looking For
- Experience in supported housing or working with young people/adults (essential)
- Knowledge of person-centred support and safeguarding
- Experience in support planning and key-working risk assessments
- Calm, empathetic and resilient with great communication skills
- Flexible and able to work on a rota, including lone working
- Passionate about making a difference in young people’s lives
